About Mount Pleasant PTA
Mission
Mount Pleasant PTA is a member unit of the West Orange Council of PTAs, New Jersey PTA, and National PTA. Our registered charitable purpose is child advocacy and parent education. Through membership dues, fundraising, and volunteer time we support school events, enrichment programs, and family activities at Mount Pleasant Elementary School, and we connect families with the school and the district.
The PTA mission we share with every West Orange PTA:
- To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
- To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.
- To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Join the PTA at your child’s school. Membership letters go home in the first weeks of September; if you did not get one, ask the school office or find your school’s PTA on Facebook. Any contribution of time that is comfortable for you makes a difference.
